Long story short: I had a friend who was rude to me nearly every time we hung out either with her words or her actions. I am the shy/quiet type so I internalized it and never said anything. The straw that broke the camel's back was when she publicly humiliated me. She went away for a semester to study abroad and I decided to ignore her. We both graduated and the situation was still on my mind. I finally sent her a letter about my feelings (now 8+ months later) and she is now saying she's the hurt one because I ignored her for so long without telling her how I felt. She claims she never knew her words were so offensive. I told her I would still like to be friends but now SHE is telling ME no because she feels more wronged in the situation. What am I to do? How should I feel?

ACT Composite Score 36, but bad essay score? Does this matter?

I got a 36 as a composite score for my ACT (36 Math, 36 Science, 35 Reading, 35 Writing), but only an 8 on my essay. How detrimental will this be when I apply to colleges in the fall (shooting for Ivy Leagues and other top colleges)? I'm definitely going into the math/science field, such as engineering, so will it have less of an impact? I was so happy when I got my composite score, but now I'm kind of bummed.

Are you disappointed in the script we're given at birth?

I am currently searching for a job. Graduated in engineering and pursued a job but did not like it. I am in a temporary job which doesn't create a lot of stress. I feel disappointed in the job market and in most things people don't really think about. It's exhausting following the unnecessary rules of society like office politics, drama, wearing fancy clothes to give the illusion you give a ****. I feel like I am an actor, just pretending because everyone tells me to. Pretending to care about people's drama even though they don't care about me. It's not that I don't have meaningful connections with people. I have great friends that I don't have to pretend around. I feel apprehensive to even try and get a job. Since I'm an engineer I am pressured to work 60 to 80 hours per week. After work, I hardly have the energy to do things that are actually important to me. I feel like we are pressured to work for all these unnecessary items such as computers, iphones, tvs. Ironically I have all these things, but I am feeling less and less interested in them. I just feel trapped by an unnecessary lifestyle that amounts to a meaningless life.
