I have a Thai friend who censors her teeth in pictures... Why would she do this?

She doesn't speak English very well, so it can be a little hard to understand her. She often censors her teeth in pictures, not with a black bar, but they're pixelated or blurred out. Is she probably just self-concious? Or is there a meme or tradition in Thailand where people do this?
